As Director of Photography, Supervising Editor, and Colorist, I helped bring this stylized portrait of Orlando Poet Laureate Shawn Welcome to life for UCF.

To match the emotional weight and layered metaphors of his original piece “Swan City,” we projected video imagery directly onto Shawn during his performance—blending visuals of the city, its people, and its energy with his physical presence. The result is a piece that shifts fluidly between the internal and external, emphasizing how his words and the city he speaks of are deeply intertwined.

This was more than just a spoken word piece—it was a visual poem about imagination, belonging, and liberation, shaped through layered projection, in-camera effects, and editorial rhythm.
